Angela Powell is the proud mother of 3 children with her husband Simon. Angela and her family moved to Plano over 15 years ago and has been an active member of the community ever since.

Angela was elected to serve her first term as Plano ISD Board of trustee in May 2017 and elected by fellow trustees to serve as vice president (May 2019 - May 2020). She graduated from Houston Baptist University with a Bachelor of Science, dual majors in Biology and History. She earned her Master of Business Administration in Health Services from the University of Dallas Graduate School of Management with honors, magna cum laude.

Angela understands the importance of a gold star education and has several years of experience as an educator. She taught at the Northampton Community College in Pennsylvania for six years. She also volunteered at St. Mark the Evangelist Church in Plano as a Sunday School Catechist to teach faith formation from 2010 - 2016.

Angela's love of community is evident in her support and membership in so many different organizations. She has served on the City of Plano Photographic Traffic Signal Advisory Committee for two terms from 2014 - 2019. She has served two terms as Vice President of the Dallas Metro North, Texas Business Women from June 2016 - 2018 and has been a member since 2013. She has been an active PTA Board Member at Isaacs Early Childhood School, Barron (as Barron Early Childhood School), Hickey Elementary School, Murphy Middle School and Williams High School since 2005. Angela has been involved with the Mariposa Project, Special Education Adult Transition Fair, as a Board Member and sponsor from 2016 - 2019. She served on the St. Joseph Catholic School Advisory Council from 2015 - 2018. Currently, Angela served on the Texas Health Community Impact Leadership Council from 2018 - 2020.
